What is wrong with source engine and Steam?

Every single game i download is corrupted! Every time I save in Half-Life 2 or Gmod, or if I change my skin in Counter Strike Source, my computer crashes, but none of this is a problem on none-source games… Why? This problem has persisted every time I re-installed the games, but my Steam copy of Fallout 3 is perfectly fine and runs without any problems at all.

Hmm well id say you have been struck with one (of many) bugs that Fallout 3 has graced the PC world with.
I couldn’t even get into Left 4 Dead while i had Fallout 3 installed on my comp.
so try uninstalling it (keep your save games) and try steam again.

Counter Strike Source skin not working online?

I installed the skins. They work when i create my own server, just not when i go into somebody else’s server online. Any suggestions?

Not much really we can do, servers run something called sv_pure, it is either set to 0, 1 or 2.

0 allows all custom skins and models.
1 is customizable settings where the server admins can enable or disable custom skins or models for characters or weapons.
2 disables all custom skins and models.

Open up the console in game while playing and type “sv_pure” without the quotation marks and it will tell you what the server allows.
