Valve Hammer Editor: rotating doors and ladders not working?
Alright, I've been working on making Counter Strike 1.6 maps with Valve Hammer Editor. I have the basics down really well, but rotating doors and ladders just aren't working for me! I've tried tutorials and whatever, and I always get an error when I compile. I don't get it! I'm using Hammer Editor 3.4 by the way. Can someone tell me how to do ladders/doors so that they actually work? Thanks!
err, compile errors? can you tell us what kind of errors you get?
ladders are made with two separate blocks: the func_ladder and another func_wall which has the ladder texture. Two brushes are needed because the func_ladder itself is invisible.
rotating doors need a small "origin" block that serves as a hinge for the door to rotate around with. You have to tie both the door and the origin block together into a func_door_rotating.
